I am not making a resolution to lose weight, eat clean, drop bad habits, save more money, work harder on my goals. I am declaring that I am ready to have my best year yet. I am 44-years-old, and I am taking on all the challenges of being a mother, a wife, a business owner, and an imperfect human being with resolve to make this year my best in spite of any obstacles. Maybe this will mean it’s my fittest year yet. Maybe I will only be kinda fit, kinda fat. I’d like to be injury free, but if life hits me with a sucker punch, I will declare it to be a good thing and use it as an opportunity to grow in another direction. I would like to add new programs to my gym, but if staff and personal conflicts arise, I will use that time to focus on keeping the existing programs running strong.
